The son of a carpenter and the grandson of a mason, Luis de la Rosa naturally learned construction at a young age. After growing up in the South Bay and taking high school drafting courses, Luis attended UC Berkeley then subsequently transferred to one of the nation's top-ranked architectural school, California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. After graduating in 1995 with a Bachelor of Architecture, Luis returned to the South Bay and began his career working for the renowned design/build firm, Blair Associates, working exclusively on custom residential projects on the Palos Verdes Peninsula. In the following years, Luis earned his license as a General Contractor, completing his goal to become a truly skilled Design Builder.
Martin is a licensed architect. He was born into a family of circus and carnival performers and picked up the family business early. Showing no apparent fear of death or mauling, Martin became an apprentice of world famous lion tamer Gunther Gebel-Williams at the tender age of just five years. After years of cleaning the lion cages, he finally got his chance to wow the crowds and stepped into the spotlight at the age of seventeen. By the following season, he had grown weary of the limelight and left the circus life. He then had a short stint as a smog checker for a local mechanic. Not being personally satisfied, he then set out to go to architectural school. He is now thoroughly fulfilled in pursuing his passion of designing new circus and carnival tents.
From a young age, Mike Maynez enjoyed helping his father with the family business: construction. Over the years alongside his dad, Mike developed his construction skills and found his passion while working on residential and commercial projects, learning hands-on about the many different trades that come together on a project. In high school he began formal classes in architecture and after graduation he obtained a college-equivalent degree in computer-aided drafting. Soon after his journey as a professional Design-Builder began when he co-founded MayCab Companies Inc., and he developed designs for new homes, additions, remodels from the construction document phase all the way through construction. During this time, Mike gained years of experience working with staffs of city and county agencies on the Palos Verdes Peninsula, thanks to years of mentorship from Tom Blair, AIA of Blair Associates. In 2010, Mike Maynez joined Luis de la Rosa's "DECOCOPV" where they continue to design and build custom projects on the Palos Verdes Peninsula.
